On the home page
The home page includes a crystal structure of indirubin-3'-monoxime in complex with CDK5/p25. The inhibitor binds in the ATP-binding pocket of the catalytic subunit, mainly through hydrophobic interaction and two hydrogen bonds with Leu83. Indirubin-3'-monoxime is shown as a ball-and-stick model, and the molecular surface of CDK5/p25 is coloured according to electrostatic potential, with blue and red representing positive and negative potential, respectively. The figure was created with GRASP program (Nicholls et al., 1991. Proteins 11, 281-296). For details on CDK5/p25 crystal structure see Tarricone, C. et al. (2001) Structure and regulation of the CDK5-p25nck5a complex. Molecular Cell 8, 657-669. (Courtesy of Claudia Crovace, Aldo Tarricone, and Andrea Musacchio, unpublished). Indirubin-3'-monoxime was synthesized by Dr. Leandros Skaltsounis.
